Mixed Smoke Effects And Color Effects

In this tutorial, we will learn to create smoke effects with Photoshop! The first step you should do, you must have the material we will make the effect. The basic ingredients are "smoke images", but just calm the material I mean is not hard to find, you can search on Google and have been provided with for free.

The first step we will do is, we have to install the Nik Software 4 effects color plug ins so that the final result is very satisfactory. Photoshop cs6 or cc there is no such plug-ins, therefore you have to install it manually. But just be quiet you can go directly to forums that provide plug-ins that I mean. You can search on google with keyword ''Nik software color effect pro'' there are dozens of sites that provide plug-in Photoshop, including plug-ins Nik Software. The original image.

The final effect.
That's the picture before and after I give the smoke effect, OK just follow the steps of making below that I provide.

Open The Picture

The first step, I will start by opening the image I choose, and I choose the female model, you can also use the object you want, for example, you take your object by itself or another.

Open the folder.
You can also use shortcut keys, such as: CTRL+O, I will select the object, which is the female model I want to edit.

Choosing a model to edit.
Select Quick Selection Tool

After we select the object, for the next step we will select the desired area on the object, by using Quick Selection Tool on the toolbar Photoshop.

Choosing quick selection tool.
I will select an area on the object that I use on the face and body, so that the smoke effects that we will unite later, look together with the object.

selecting the desired area.
Then after we select a specific area on the object we use, the next step, we will use the shortcut key by pressing CTRL+J on the keyboard. This is so that the selected area, we can take without changing the original image, and will appear layer 1 on the layer panel, after we use the shortcut I mean.

Photoshop panel layers.
Add New Document

We will create a new document, you can click on the top left corner of the file then click new, or you can also use shortcut keys by pressing CTRL+N on the keyboard you are using.

Click new and going to a file new.
We will be redirected to the document dialog box, I will here set the Width to 2160 Pixels and Height to 1920 Pixels then for the Resolution I use 150 Pixels. You can also adjust the resolution of the creation of this document, with the object you are using, because I am here using the resolution of 150 pixels it adjusts to the object I use for the final result, the image is not broken.

Document dialog box.
Select Move Tool

The next step, we will select the move tool contained in the toolbar Photoshop. And I will move the model object to our new document.

Move tool.
It's time to move the object to the document we already have, this is the step that will lead to the creation of smoke effects later, in fact for the manufacture of this smoke effect we are not supposed to create a new document, why I here create a new document ?, because step 2 I Make it easier than step 1 that I have not created yet. There are two steps to make this effect I just choose step 2 to be more effective. I make this step of making this effect as easy as possible so that you are not difficult to follow it, unlike the video tutorials that you can directly see without reading.

Moving objects to a new document.
Add Smoke Image

And here's the step we're waiting for, we'll add the smoke image to the object we have, if you do not have the smoke image I mean, you can search on google, there are lots of smoke pictures and you can grab it for free.

Choosing its smoke image.
After we open the smoke image, we use the quick key by pressing CTRL+A and CTRL+C on the keyboard we use. After that paste on the new document we have created by pressing CTRL+V.

Its example.
Changing Blend Mode

We will change the blend mode contained in the Photoshop layer panel from Normal to Lighten, this is so that the smoke image, not too flashy and cover the object.

Blend mode.
I will adjust the smoke image with the object that I have, to look united, and there also can follow the same steps as I do. And for those of you who have a different object, you can match it with the object you have, so that the effect looks good.
This its example.
Select Eraser Tool

We will reduce the smoke effect or remove the unwanted area using the Eraser Tool, because the object I use is covered by the smoke image, so I will remove the covered area.

Eraser tool.
And look at the results below that we have.

Removes unwanted areas.
Use Flatten An Image

Okay friend for the next step, we will use Flatten Image contained in the menu layer. This is so that the file layer we have created into one file.

Choose flatten image.
After we put file layer, then that will happen file layer that we have become one file layer like in picture below.

Photoshop panel layers.
Add Color Effect "Nik Software''

For this step, we will use the color effects found in Nik software, there are many effects that Nik Software provides for us, but here I will choose only one effect, namely: pastel effect, why I choose that effect ?, because the Pastel Effect I will choose, is suitable for the object we use, and the effect is not too sharp.

Filter menu.
As I said above, I will select the pastel effect, then we will set the effect by changing the method, diffusion, saturation, and contrast for shadows and highlights let it go. Change Method to Method 1, Diffusion to 0%, Saturation to 91%, and to Contrast to 36% then click OK.

Box menu color effect "Nik Software".
And this is the result, after we give the pastel effect. This pastel effect, soft effect suitable for you to use, for nature scenery, beach scene, and family photo.

After we give a pastel effect.
Add another "Nik Software" Color Effect

It's time we add the effect color again, for the addition of this second effect, we will use Bleach Bypass effect, this second effect is same as HDR effect, but i will reduce the sharpness of this effect. I will adjust the effect with the object that I use, so that the effect is not too flashy.

I will set the Bleach Bypass effect, by setting the Brightness to -7%, Saturation 20%, Contrast 55% and Local Contrast to 75% then click OK.

Box menu color effect "Nik Software".
Take a look at the result in the picture below, after we give Bleach Bypass effect, if you want to use this effect, I advise to use it not too sharp so that the object when in zoom does not break, unless you use it with a great resolution it does not problem.

Once we give the effect of bleach bypass.
Levels added

I will add a level to the object that I have, to make the smoke effect looks better, to step on click on adjustment layer located under the Photoshop layer.

Adjustment layer.
Once we get into the Adjustment layer, I will choose the level that is under the brightness, I will set from that level to 0.64% and you can also match that level with the object you are using.

Level settings.
And look at the result, there is little difference on the object that I use.

Its example.
Add A Photo Filter

To perfect effect we will add Photo Filter contained in Adjustment layer, using filter effect, that is: cooling filter (80) with Density 25%, if filter effect is less satisfactory you can add Density according to the object you use.

Photo filter settings.
And look at the changes we will have, much like the example image below.

After giving filter effect.

Add Text

OK friends for the final step, we will add the text, you can customize the text with the name you want to write, I here create a text with the title of the site I have. But for text creation, I did not make the first step because I already have the file, I think for making the text quite easy so you can add text as you like.

I will here add the finished text that I have created before.

Add text.
Then I will add the text to my background, using the CTRL+A and CTRL+C quick keys, then I will paste it in the background using CTRL+V key.

And this is the result.
